Equally inspired by German krautrock from the early 70s, contemporary Japanese avant-psych and new millennial drone noise, "Tidal Wave" is the first song published by secretSpeech. This is an all-electronic quasi-live song (only the simple beats are pre-programmed, but still manually modulated). Apart from that you hear a MIDI keyboard, and most of all NDS Elektroplankton connected to a Kaoss Pad 3. The song has a hypnotic pattern and a brooding atmosphere and was recorded in a dark room on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
I like the hypnotic ambience. The beats keep the things going... Through your swelling and evolutation work on the kaoss pad, I notice you have a good feeling for such ambience...
This track has a powerfull orchestral feel. Personnaly I don't think it needs the drums, I guess that's more because I like beatless music.
Now that you mention it: programming beats is not my specialty... maybe I will try in the future to concentrate on atmospheres and sometimes monumental, orchestral moods... that's my Seventies prog rock background trying to get attention :-)
