started as something completely noir. but i wanted it to be a bit more vividely. that was where the beat rolled, alongside a second bassline. it's a basis, bit it needs something more.
Weird atmosphere, a bit 'mental, neurotic, split personality' and stuff. Bassline needs a bit work, she's too loud also imo. Your freaky piano doesn't seem right at first glance, then again it actually fits mood...raise the high freqs on the piano a bit, plus a little playing with the velocity. I do like your chill beats, and also the whistle-bottle sound in the background.
the piano is indeed not always a hundred percent correct, and it is meant to be that way. it has more expression this way i believe. i'll take care of 'm basses. and i'll see what i can do about the piano. but i won't make it "correct" :D thanks!
I follow Yen about the neurotic character of the song. Maybe that the bass is too loud indeed, hmm... Why not try to put in a little game "piano versus strings" kind of a melodic battle, to have some more variation in instruments?
