Buyer or Hacker

i never liked software for creativity reasons, but i wouldnt buy software for another one: it loose its value way too fast compared to hardware.

i tried a lot of leeched software but when i found ableton live to be the right tool for my studio i bought it, just like all the hardware gear i have in it (and live is cheap compared to the stuff stacked in here...).

and yes, software keeps no value and yes, you can get it easily for free but if you don't pay for it your favorite developers won't stay in business for much longer...

I worked with a hacked version of Cubase for two years, until I earned some money with it.

Then I bought it, because it's worth it.

And it cost me 666 euro, it was a sign I tell ya... :D

I have to admit that some of my plugins aren't too legally obtained, but the more important ones are bought.

yeah sorry i meant creativity related to ergonomy

Bought most of my software. not enough money to buy it all though.. hopefully I use one of the cheapest sequencer on the market (renoise = 50€).

renoise is a tracker not a sequencer, i don't like trackers 8o

A tracker is a sequencer, as in, you sequence patterns of music. Just another workflow/way to work, but it does deserves the name of sequencer imo.

i don't see why software loses its value...

i'm very impressed by the korg legacy and some others i'm sure i'll keep using them for a long time...

i like hardware too and ok, it might sound and work better for you but is that enough reason to state that software loses its value too fast?

and for creativity reasons: i think software-development has changed the hardware-market...

and about the subject i'd say: thx 2 the hackerz!
