good day all of you!
I'm facing some irritating problems with my midi controller (m-audio axiom 49). For some kind of stupid reason my computer says most of the time "doesn't recognize usb-application" (but then in dutch, don't really know how to translate it properly). I'm working with windows XP, and like I said, it only appears in 60 procent of the times I try to switch it on. So I really don't know what the problem is: is it my cheap soundcard, is it some kind of "driver", wtf, I don't know, it's like he just hates me, because I tickle him too much...please help if you know much about these things! and thank you for that!
I sometimes got problems with usb-devices too. I get the same error you have, i think there's something wrong with my usb port. Maybe you've got the same problem, maybe try to use some of the other usb ports? .
already tried that, doesn't seem to bother my computer, he's still being the same old fucker
then try your controller on another pc, if the problem is still there, you know for shure it s not your pc.
did you uninstall and reinstall the driver? http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support.drivers&f=751
yes did that too, but the problem is that my midi works once and a while, not always, and that's a bit strange: with a real problem it should never work, and that's not the case. So I guess this is a strange, odd problem, a kind of typical pc problem without one good solution, thnx for the help anyway!
is your XP official?? i dont know if its possible but maybe its windows, i had media center and it was impossible to get my controllers on it, with XP now i have no prob but maybe reinstall your windows, ur your usb devices?? ... something i already red many times: M Audio and windows applications are not very frinendly together... seems MAudio is designed for mac , eventough it should works fine on XP
Do you have a mid-range or cheap computer? Cause it's a common problem with cheaper pc's that the USBdrivers aren't that stable.
If that's the case there is no solution but buying a new pc....
...another direction....maybe some expert knows more about it... You happen to have other usb stuff connected? I was wondering if you have eg. a couple of power consuming stuff hooked up, that at one point your USB port can't generate enough power to 'feed' them all.. I have one synth, one midi keyboard, one keyboard & one mouse hooked up to one port ( even a hub now) & I do experience troubles from time to time... Could be something else also...? If you have multiple stuff connected, try and deconnect some & see if you experience the same troubles... If it isn't the case... Disregard my message...I haven't been of much help then :) grtz
