i sometimes log on to electrobel

(1) with no patience and no tolerant mood looking for something new and nice to hear Basically, consume.

(2) At other times, its the producer inside of me hwo looks for ideas and is curious about what others tries and do, and wish to comment,, interact get involved.

I think most people do behave like (1) and i would suspect we could assume a "general audience" behavior is like that.

the fact that many tracks on electrobel are let say, unfinished, tentative and novice level (and that's reallyf fine for (2) attitudes), how about creating a specific music category for people uploading tracks they consider not finished ?

this would benefit all the other categories, where a lot of tracks are unfinished , bcs the authors sought feedback before wrapping u their work. this makes the unpleasant feeling that a lot of tracks are a loss of time for those looking for good finished tracks, and not wanting to feedback/comment/participate.

I would also suggest that it be made very clear on the upload your track page if the track is finished and widely spreadable or still temporary and to be commented, not for general audience but for reviewers.

what do u think?

wow, i just discovered it now that you mention it ! it was well hidden !

still , the problem remains.

honestly, i believe there is something that should be done in regards to that problem. maybe genre moderators would have the power to replace tracks in the construction zone ?

it depends what you call an unfinished track. i never post an unfinished track, but i think some professionals will call my tracks "demos" or "previews" or something like that.... it's a subjective point of view. it's not easy for the moderators to choose...

some tracks are obviously un-finished .. some producers actually SAY it in the description :) I do my best to try to put good tracks in ICZ ... but well most of the times it seems users move them in GENERAL afterwards because not enough pple go to the In Construction Zone ... though i'm not sure how to make it more obvious :)

i understand it's difficult to control the quality of the output. it's part of the game i guess.

you know micromusic.de ? instead of allowing everybody to upload, it's very hard to get one accepted !!! it's the total opposite (even erzatz hasn't succeeded yet i think). It's not good either. We have to find a way in-between.

another idea: let say we have the favorite system work better (which it will, once we get it better communicated - no damage intended zark, its already fantastic work as it is). how about we give a lifetime to each track. a "stop/encore" thing where after two months it has reached a number of comments or a number of favourites , or a number of hits, it stays, otherwise its archived and out?
