Hello folks! As you can see i need some help with cool edit pro, i'm "working" with it for a month or 2 but it doesn't really come out like i want to ( no surprise ) so i was asking myself if anyone here knows some good tutorials or could somehow explain some things. I'd like to use cool edit to slice and add idm-ish effects, I think it's possible with cool edit to do that no? Like i'd use the glitch vst without vst but draw everything myself ;) thx
its more used for mastering purposes and so.. i think perhaps ur more looking for something like reaktor or audiomulch?
as for the glitch vst. its just a combination of effects in chain.. gates.. various delay fx, distortion etc
but anyway yes there r some tutorials out on audition, i think lynda.com offers a tutorial dvd as well
Well i've got reaktor here somewhere but i ask myself if i still should work with reason if i start using reaktor, also i still ain't got no midicontroller and i've noticed reaktor has no sequencer ( or i just didn't found it )
http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/magic/audition/win/2.02/audition_user_guide.pdf I use the multitracker in audition a lot for regular recordingsessions and for mastering, could use any vst I want so far. the interesting part in using it combined with reason is that you can keep the composing part and the soundmixing part separated.
Still no people who know how to add these effects without the use of the glitch vst or reaktor?
Well, I think you're making it hard for yourself by not wanting to do this in a sequencer... It is theoretically possible to slice and all in cooledit. For example you can make your own amp envelope with as much points as you please. only downside is it won't be following any bpm. So I think it's very hard and a bit sily to strat doing this shit in cooledit. For other effects you can use and add any directx efx in cooledit so you can use multiple efx as you plz in cooledit. But again: why?
Cooledit doesn't give any more possibilities or quality than any sequencer. My 2c. would be to draw your own modifications (pitch/amp/...- automation in fruityloops for example) in a sequencer. I find FLstudio to be very (very) quick and helpful for this. Most of the craziest modifications (glitchlike) I've ever done on voicesamples where made almost completely by the basic functions of FL. And now with 7.0 you have even better slicer options. So my advice would be: forget the plan about cooledit... Cooledit is good to finish and mix a (rendered) sound, to make it smooth and clean, not to fuck it up. there are better ways to do this ;)
edit: aah! but you're a reason user... There's your problem: limitations :))

edit: aah! but you're a reason user... There's your problem: limitations :)) i'll second this... use a sequencer with automation. and as far as i know most parameters in glitch can be automated... thats what i really like about glitch, you have verry detailed control... my choice of sequencer for this would be ableton ;) (because of the clip ebvelopes) but any sequencer with good automation support should work...
arf, don't tell me there's no possible solution for reason users! haléja, reason is my wife, my life. That's a little bit exaggerated but yet.. I know the balls about FL that'd mean i have to start all over again with everything
Easy now soldier :))
Ofcourse you can do all those things in reason. I don't know shit about reason but I'm pretty sure you can automate volume, pitch, velocities, pan etc. Then there are probably loads of efx you can use and automate in reason too! For example: distartion, phasers, delays etc... switch them on/off on a rythm based matter. Then you'll have glitchlike stuff in no time! And if those things are really impossible in reason you should inded consider learning another program (as well). But I doubt it..
edit: offtopic: what the hell is up with centering the user pic and giving the text of posts just 1/3the of the space? New ebel forum policy?
mmhhh, well i'll automate some more, it's true i don't use it that much , thanks for the tips anyways bandar ;) strange window indeed!
