I wondered how you can record sound from other applications ... can I record something from my browser, my video's / DVD's, even games ... ? I work with mac and as audio recorder / editer I use Audacity for OSX.... Acctually can you record all sounds your computer can possibly make...

try totalrecorder. It captures everything your computer plays by recording directly at the soundcard. Or hook up a recorder/minidisc to your line-out.

you can open video files in audobe audition. it automaticaly captures the audio. some games have a folder with mp3's

In the windows mixer panel you can select the audio output of your soundcard as a recording source. This is the entire mix, so make sure you only have the program you want to record make sound. (ie if you have msn open and the "you've got a message" sound goes off, it will be recorded as well).

yeah tried some stuff you guys said .. but all the software and tips is for PC exept Audition but hat costs money... a lot.

But thx for the advices...

I'm pretty sure that the osx audio mixer has a similar option

nèèè... cant find a thing ... in my sound menu in preferences the only input is my microphone... can't select other harware or add.... KUT :!

i record the output of my soundcard with audacity without any problem ... just have to change the input from microphone to the right choice (don't know wich one on a mac) ...

Ok, I did a five second google search and I think I found a solution:

Audiohijack aparently allows you to dump the audio to a digital file right before it gets shipped of to the soundcard. There's a free and a paying pro version
