I want to know which external HD I should buy for my Macbook 2GB. It needs to be small and lightweight and I will use it for playing live with Ableton and some additional mic recordings from time to time (only one track at the same time). At the moment I am using a Lacie Big Disk 160 GB, but it weighs too much and is not so reliable (I have had 2 HD crashes in 2 years). Is there much difference between Firewire and USB 2 and between 7200 rpm and 5400 rpm? And which types/brands are recommended?
Thanks!
Zool.
Fire wire is the best solution (faster transmition port) and 7200 rpm is also faster
Lacie rugged with firewire port 'cause you don't need a current "alimentation : en français" feeder?) Means even if the current dissapears, you're gonna work at the second everything's ok… Hope my message is understandable.
