That's a good joke. First of all, you'll get a chance if you have affinities with some people here and if they judge your work as good (Just enough so as not to be better than their own work). Since I know the electronic scene, it has always been like that. Like other "artist" (I don't like that word) or DJ's are afraid of the others, protecting their own ass.

I you really want play live, move your ass, that's the only think I have to say, never expect that somebody will help you or take your hand except for his own interest.

"you'll get a chance if you have affinities with some people here and if they judge your work as good" not true, not at all. Its not about affinities, its about MUSIIIIC and the motivation you ve got, thats my personal experience. I played my first live because of ebel, but i was totally unknown by other members...

but indeed if you dont move your ass nothing will happend ^^

That's a good joke. thats no joke man,if I say "you can...",that means there is a possibility to...

(I say,let yourself know and get to know people who'r doin the same thing you do. If somebody will "take your hand" for his own interest(lets say building a party, wanting YOU at his party),whats the harm? Thats mission accomplished. "never expect that somebody will help you...";I disagree because I had much more help than expected.)

And I wanted to make Ebel attractive...there it goes

If it was true, why is there not a random function to make every ebel artist play at least once (only if he wants to, of course) ? Because of subjectives meanings like "people don't dance on that" ? Why is it always the same names that you can see on the line-up ?

I was the first one to play autechre, afx, plaid, squarapusher & many more for the dancefloors (fuse & network) in the 90ies, the style was than classified as "not dansable" by some organisators, some people were starring at me with killing eyes like I was a sick weirdo. Maybe they were right, but I was right too as I see how much autecrafx clones there are now on the electronic scene.

Don't misunderstand me, I don't wanna play live, I'm just wondering why I often read the same names on the ebel flyers if you're telling the truth. And please, don't tell me that there are the best on ebel because it would be a lie.

I'm glad for you if you got help but you're quite naive, don't you ?

Anyway, I respect the work of ebel, the community, the forums, even the hosting of our tracks wich can be a very good promotion tool but I don't think it really helps you building a musical career.

you are way of here man.... I got the question to play live via ebel, and that was before i knew anyone here, unfortunately i couldn't make it then...

meanwhile i played severall times, and also because of promotors and people who found me on ebel, but are not a member of ebel, so because of my music, like aphone says...

and imho it's logical that you have to promote yourself as well to get seen, no?

Do you think they found you because of ebel or because of the promotion you did first ?

Anyway, I'm not the only one who think so about ebel. And not only from "unknown artists"

but you're quite naive, don't you ? Naive? ...I just try to do the right things to achieve what is "possible",without concrete expectations. Im not saying to myself "I AM gonna achieve this and that", no,I just do what I feel is right, and see where it takes me.

hey,and about Ae-Afx clones; you must admit electronix are waaaayyyyyy better off than most commercial bullcrap-formula-songs out there, thats a freakin clone-factory! A big ball of slime who is constantly recycling itself, if youll ask me. The electronic scene is doin great in comparison with that.imo
