Hi everybody and good morning ;)
It seems that after 2,5 years i've hit a wall in music production. things just don't go as smoothly as before, don't know why this is. Maybe because i've gotten to perfectionistisch or maybe something else. Also seems i can't learn new stuff in fruity and i'm sure that there is still lots more stuff to learn (also recently picked up reason 4). the main problem, i think, lies in soundmanipulation and composition Anybody got any tips or help?
being too perfectionistic could be the problem, try working less on the details and try finishing stuff, when you finish a track you get thsi satisfaction and courage and you're on to the next track and also, just do it! think less do more and experiment it's very cliché but very true i think that's how i've gotten through my wall hope it might help :)

it's true what you say you know, but nothing ever works out anymore, i mean i don't know what i shold start with :D usually i make a loop first and build onward on that but it's very difficult lately, can't seem to turn the loop into a song and stuff. could also be that i'm lazy in the sense that i expect to get a lot whilst doing to little or something like that. does everybody start from a loop (or never) or do you sometimes start from an intro and stuff? also just uploaded a new loop, it's icz so you guys can comment, a dubstep tryout. still pending though.
some thoughts:
thx for the tips mate will mind it ;) -got 25gig of mp3 en wav samples so your right abou tthe indicisive part :p -also started maken tracks in 12 measures in stead of the usual 16. -Midi keyboard is at my friends house :(
thx again ;)
believing in good results + willing to experiment -> is key. excellent words from MrMute. indeed try restricting your options or even your (genre of) sounds. (check some of the/my chiptune tracks here on Ebel)
try another sequencer, other synth, learn to play instruments, its just the daily routine that annoy you maybe
What does this wall have to do with FL? It's you... :)) Try working at different projects in the same bpm. That way you can exchange stuff. Upgrade to fl 8.5. That way you won't work with patterns anymore.
AND come to the FL workshop in scheldapen @ 6/6;)

In Antwerp (next to petrol) and not sure actually. Income is €5 but that's mostly for the party. Still a democratic price. I'll be talking about efx routing and massive vsti and general workflow in FL 8.5. About the same presentation as last year, bit more and in dutch. Feel free to come and have a look! I'm no pro but I'm sure my workflow can give you ideas for your own.

i also like to do something completely different once in time, exploring styles etc sometimes this gives you new ideas or techniques wich you can use later
also the emptyness when you start can be a bit euh demotivating building upfrom nothing,, so that's why i like to recycle tracks, in that way i've got a lot of sounds and synths already and then i just tweak them to make something different, but i don't always do it, to keep it interesting and creative =) when i do build a track from nothing i mostly start with synthesis and melodic elements, if i begin with beats somehow the track never gets finished (unless it's abstract shizzle but well you know )
and lazyness is the devil! i'm very lazy and also in my music, mostly when i'm not lazy i really get better results so work your ass off! ;)
