Yes you're right! **Epitonic ** is top!!! (Far behind Ebel of course, which is best forever). I downloaded the entire downtempo section a few months ago... 750 mB mp3

Besides the gigantesque choice of songs and artists... I like especially the <<MUSIC GENRE WALKTHROUGH>> feature, that gives explanations, examples and even a historical review on every music genre.

Cnet's download.com has also an interesting music section including over 19000 artists.http://music.download.com Most interresting is the search by location feature. **Music.download.com ** features major artists, such as the chemical brothers...and many more... but everybody can post songs. (There's a quality control and a post takes about two weeks to be published.)

Under the slogan " I'm not a Popstar, but I can make music" a german speaking communitywww.myownmusic.de features about 16000 songs. Everybody can join and post songs. Appearently Myownmusic.de is the biggest newcomer-community in Germany and benefits from a major media coverage.

Perfect flemish site about the latest incoming music, a lot of electro with free mp3 tracks per cd, contests etc... agenda ... They should translate it in french. great site !!!

Free mp3 tracks per cd? Our cd and the couple of reviews I read didn't have any, just a review.

And the kwadratuur reviews are some of the most biased you can read on the net. 'I think' rules bigtime over 'This should appeal to' for them, which is not really a great attitude in reviewing cd's.

hmmm, got to be more severe.. 8( sorry, jemenfish for your bad reviews there, Zool get a great one and from then on i check every months at their site, they learn me new stuff and the mp3 samples are great but not for everyone like you say. Anyway, i don't read their articles from the bottom to the top (got no time for that), i listen to the samples and my ears do the rest. Once they stay hooked on a tune i read the review...

I occasionally check it, but Kwadratuur has been going as one of the first internet-zines, but it has been overshadowed by a number of newer websites doing the same thing, and better.

To show what I mean with biased reviews read the first part of this one:

Basically saying 'This band has tons of music that deserve to be in the hitcharts, but aren't due to the band not wanting to be mainstream'.

It often seems on the website that the public just has no taste (another review I dimly remember was saying something along the lines of 'we do not understand wy the large public likes this and it is so hyped'), but only the reviewers know what makes a good project. Which is, IMHO, a lousy way to write internet reviews.

I'm also surprised you mention them reviewing a lot of electro. Never noticed a lot of electronica (unless it is 'Ruis'-related). And most electro seems to get negative quotes :)
