I'd put a new harddisk in my pc and make a total new setup. Working on XP home ed. i never worked with SP2 because when it came out it creates a lot of conflicts inside my music setups. It's quiet a time ago, so, how's is it now? Is it ok, no conflicts? Is it useless ( don't need the firewall - got Norton's one and set it off when i make music (offline).... Some reactions are welcome :) thnx
i heard lots of horror stories about it but i have had no trouble at all with sp2
i thought SP2 contained only firewall, usb2 and fixed bugs mostly the leaks in explorer and outlook etc. i don't see how you had problems with music unless with usb...

you'd be surprised :)
SP2 is almost a new version of windows :p
lots of new things added, things modified, things patched ....
when it came out lots of proggys had to release updates or they simply wouldn't work :p example: NERO ... yeah, you had to update nero to be able to burn on sp2 *-)
i'd say running sp2 now poses no problem to the current line of software. using an old software (before sp2 was known), i'd be cautious :)
Well, is looks qiet good, i disabled the firewall ( got Norton installed ) and all musicprgrms are working fine.
