do u make them at 140? so then its pretrty normal they sound to fast 180, try making them in 180
What's the difference between making them at 140 - then putting them at 180 and making them at 180 ? I make them at 180 , but they sound way to fast.

what prog u use?
Most sequencing apps have a function where you can double the lenght of a certain "midi" part.
In Reason, the app I use daily this is (ok mac, I know) ctrl-clickon a 'part' then choose 'change events ...' (pc it's probably rightclick)
in the change events window do what ever you wanna do with the tempo of your 'part'
another advice would be to play the bassline with a midi keyboard instead of programming it, gives that funky vibe to it ...
also great basslines (this is imho) are sparse but to the point. e.g. of a great bassline would be Anthony Rother - Redlight District (tow bebebebe bam)

FL Studio 4.1 that's the one I use. Doubling the lenght - how?
go to project settings and increase the numbert of bars (from 16 to 32)
(have to check it)
16 notes is too short for drum'n'bass imho, in Fruity (and anything else) I set it to 32 so you have a proper length to spread the notes for the basslines (or whatever)
i cant believe this
just check in reason on the matrix for the steps (0-32)and put the speed on 1/8, 1/8t,1/4,1/2
if ya dont like the matrix, just draw the notes and ya can make ya bazeline loop as long ass ya want
and always work on a song ,with the apropriate speed , that means ya want to make drum & bass, put the speed between 170-180 b/min iff ya ajust the speed for 10 b/min,ya wont notice it anymore in the arangement
good luck tip ,try to work on 1/16t>>its a new challenge
try checking out some chords too, they can really improve the melody of your basslines
