2/2: KK is burning

Funny, the owner hired the location to 2 different organisations on that day I heard today and both already printed flyers and posters. Which is all the more funny because now that I am looking into all the laws surrounding clubs and locations due to the theft of my gear, since apparrently those weekend events at Kultuurkaffee never even work with a written contract and hence aren't insured; On top of that you get this kind of messed up situations.

I'm still baffled anyone would hire a 350+ capacity venue without contract or insurance...I'm taking steps as it is now to prosecute.

No worries, it's all being taken care of in a nice, official way. I probably won't get the cam back but whatever.

But, back to the topic: Strekie, Kultuurkaffee was hired to two different locations on that day. Before you start inviting people on forums, make sure which one gets it. It's not the first time this happened and obviously, one side will get dissed...

Yes. Both are confirmed by telephone by the owner, both printed flyers and posters en masse. I learned this today from the university after inquiring for the security tape of what happened to me this weekend.

I've always been defending Kultuurkaffee and trying to keep it going but the lackluster way things are handled, including security, the impoliteness of the people employed, and the, to be honest, frankly idiotic organisation of double bookings and not using written contracts has made me realise since this weekend that the palce isn't what it used to be and TBH I now adamantly would say, stay away from it.

I mean, my cam got stolen, that's just some money; Suppose your teeth were punched in? Suppose your girlfriend was raped while taking a breath of fresh air? Suppose you're knifed? The place isn't even supposed to be open in a weekend if there isn't a contract since it's the university's official concert hall. Those private parties by everyone and their mother started with the new owner and I even hired it once or twice myself but I never would have even considered it working without anything written down or insurances.

Why can't people just pay a little bit of attention. I mean, it's a simple as having a small calender and tell all your people they should check it. If they can't, get new people. :s
