USB Midi/Audio interface
Help neededHey,
Didn't find it in the forum, So I'm gonna ask straight away! I need a good Audio and Midi interface I'm gonna buy myself a USB keyboard and I wanna record my Bass on a acceptable level!
any suggestions, experiences.
I'm running Cubase on a HP Pavillion DV 2200.
My Bass: Fender Precision Bass TM My amp: Ashdown Mag 250 Head (with D.I.) and 4x 10 inch speakers

depends on what u can and want to spend? could get recommends varying from 200 euro up till a 1000..
i got a RME hammerfall dsp card (think i payed around 400)

lol, MBOX is for protools :p but offcourse it can also work with cubase. i have an MBOX and it's a very simple thing. no difficulties or hassling; just connect, install and it works. and since it doesn't have a powerswitch, it always works, even when it gets disconncted by accident. i use it only with protools (because protools only works with digidesign-soundcards), and i have it hooked up to my motu ultralite via the SPDIF. so i can select which signal from the ultralite goes to the MBOX and the sound of the MBOX automaticly goes to the ultralite, so no need to change cables of the monitors.
if u have around 500 euro, i would recommend the motu ultralite. it just f*cking rocks like hell and i never have any problems with it. if i turn it off, my pc automaticly switches to the onboard soundcard untill i switch it on again. the controlls on the front are very handy, because u don't need a computer to control the dsp-mixer. and it has many in/outs (10/14) in a little package.
How many inputs do you need? If you just need 2 in/out you could try a tascam us-122 It has all the input types you could want, phantom power and midi IO.
If the only thing you want to record is guitars, check out the stealthplug. It comes with a very nice software package (like traction 2 and a not so lite version of amplitube), but it only works for guitars obviously.

Did I mention i'm using Windows Vista!! Could be a problem anyone working with that MBOX under vista?
