At the moment I have the Realtek HD Audio under Windows XP (under bootcamp under OS X Leopard 2.2ghz-2Gram and that(strangely) doesnt do the job for me.Well if I behave in producing it does but...you know,I wanna get the most out of it.)
So an external Sound card would do the job. Advice?
to answer nEUROLANDs reply ; I just need a better soundcard than the Realtek on the Mac,and I dont really need a big interface with in'n out puts.As simple as possible(but I understand these days they all got all sorts of in-out puts)

depends what you're planning to do, but for less than 300 € I hardly recommend ZOOM H4, that's an handy stereo recorder that can be used as a pro soundcard… I bought mine last week, for the price you can walk around and record, while you can use it as a soundcard @ home. 48 volts included ! 96khz/24 bits. used as a recorded you can make mp3 also… The two entry can received either mic or line input. If you're a guitar player, some effects are included, and so on, and so on… The soft that drive the machine can be updated…
Check by yourself… both mac&win!!!

Definitely teratec phase 24/26 in that case.
Google for specs, it's solid & stable as a rock.

Well, lots of people will say FW is better, faster etc. and it probably is IF it works which you can't tell on beforehand. I bought 2 fw cards and none of them worked properly. That's why I chose USB2.
