They close off their programming on April 30th.

If there would have been a full tent given to one organisation (which you normally actually BUY at Dour, not get), you'd have known by now. Unless we're talking one of those tents in between the markets :)

dour doesn't work with 'labels' .....

If I remember well, there was a thread asking for demos for the "dour tremplin" and there was a small discussion about an electrobel tent there but more for the joke. But one day we can hope...

As a side note, I was selected for that contest for the drum and bass part. I had sent a liveset and i was selected, and they told me i couldnt play live (at the contest) because it was a dj contest, so I came and made a cd set/ mix of my tunes. Ended up not winning, because my set wasnt technically good enough (just played cd, no scratch pass pass etc), and "I would have had way more point if the selection wasnt based on a dj contest". I think its my set who made the people move the most, with my own tunes heh so I had hopes but in the end they were looking for a dj. Ah well! Im ranting again.. time to stop!

well, you can dj with your own music, it's much more interesting than dj-ing other artists music, but i guess people want to hear tunes they know... our job to get our music known...

ME WONT GO BACK TO DOUR: CLEAR CHANNEL IS THE FIRST PROBLEM, MIK DIDNT WON IS THE SECOND, ADIOS DOUR!!

If you fill in 'do you want to play at dour', you'll notice you have to fill in your label, distribution and so forth...it sounds very nice 'beginning bands can sign up and play!', but I'm willing to bet my left asscheek off distribution and label/sales will make 90 percent of their choices be made.

Clubcircuit has a tent; They buy themselves in there to 'give an example to the French people what the Flemish part has to offer'. Then they book things like Fixkes etc. who have 0 airplay in Wallonia (or Brussels) and the tent ends up filled with 15 year old Flemish people from West-Vlaanderen. Useful :) I did laugh when there was one of those new Flemish 3-month wonders in the electronic world playing with a title called 'electro-disco' or some such, and the tent did have a lot of people from Brussels/Wallonia I recognised from the electro scene, and it was so mindnumbingly bad and simple they all gave them their middle-finger.

Thats what I did and the crowd responded better to my set than to most other sets so my music wasnt the problem, more that im not a "technical dj", no scratch etc. The "own production" argument wasnt taken into account, neither the crowd response so ... Thats what bothered me the most, that it did go so well and in the end im like 4 on 5 or something. But they had their criterias and I didnt fit so there

neih, i had some inside information from the godfather himself ^^ but he just killed the rumour, so ;)

too bad you didn't got picked though you where sure to have at least one spectator @ y're set ;)
