does anybody have an advice on portable recorder with high quality sound????
a device that you can use both as mp3 reader and wav recorder... stereo micro/battery/ HD or CF....

for rehearsals I use an md with a dedicated "congres" stereo zoom mike from sony. the cheap mp3 players have recorders but the inbuilt mikes you don't want to use. I think m-audio has 24bit 96khz dedicated portable machine but it's rather pricey 320pounds must be like 450 neuro or so.
Maybe you find something inbetween...
Field recorders are expensive; You could look for students ending their studies and doing theirs away in audio or audiovisual arts.
i always use a little condenser mic to clip on my minidisc
mine is a Sony ECM-MS907 Stereo Electret Condenser Microphone and costed 'bout €100 a year ago _ way less expensive then those portastudio's imho ...
