Hello fellow mods,

I've noticed quiet many reply's or posts in french lately... Even mods reply only in french (eg. ) And nothing's happening....where are the mods?

Shouldn't we be consistent?

What do you guys think about that?

Grtz

in my opinion,we do them a favor by learning english,if we tolerate all kinds of languages, they will never learn....endless discution...

we have to blow 1 direction?what shall it be?anyone?

We blow into Zark's direction....Meaning ...other languages then English are allowed...ONLY when there's a translation... No? That's how I understood it....

C'mon you seriously can't penalise comments in french or dutch when for example the guys is talking to his friend or something..

And i suppose comments are dedicated to the artist and not to other people's reading (mostly) so i suppose as long as the artist understands the comment then it shouldnt be a problem..

However yes with a translation would be best.. but i dont wanna be spending my time translating comments either.. so either we delete all foreign language comments or send a warning to every user who makes a comment that doesnt have a translation ...

But then comes the problem for anonymous users..

So this becomes complicated, maybe its best to leave it as it is ?

Let me also suggest here that an -EDIT- button would be nice to edit comments... (i.e warning for language, correction etc...) and not just a delete button :)

have to enforce as much as possible the use of english.

otherwise it'll go in every possible direction ..

sure small comments in french or dutch that sound like jokes can be tolerated ... but appart from that we have to get strict again...

otherwise the users themselves will soon complain :)

Penalizing is not the purpose....Rather convincing them of the advantages....

  • Everyone can learn/understand the feedback...It's not only usefull to the one that created the track, also to others ( me for exemple). - Even those who don't know English that well...they will learn by trial... - PM's & the wall etc...don't have to be in English (right?)...so there's always that possibillity if you want to express yourself in another language only... - Ebel is accessible all over the world...We also got people from abroad listen to tracks...Not every country is that good in languages as Belgium...I don't think there are many fora around with a mixtur of English/Dutch/French comments... I don't think mods have to do their translations, that's out of the question, for me at least.. And i'm not so 'in' for sendings 'warnings'...Should rather be a constructive message that states the advantages ( see above :) ) Bout anonymous comments...Their only visible to members...But yea...What system is perfect? thanks CQI, i speak a bad english but i dont care, i try ... so now what do we have to do??? I think we shoud not loose our time here, we are intelligent enough to know when we have to block a french or dutch comment. Its good as it is now i think. We just have to be carefull.

ik denk that if we reste comme c'est nu, alles wel be going the bon direction, non?

the multi-language thing is very appealing i guess, everybody has a chance to remain himself and to improve...

but there has to be space to improve...

bon les gars, salut en de kost and let me know if you're in for some hardcore jammin'

(in da name of the lord)
