It is my intention to organize during the year 2006 a couple of workshops.
what is a workshop ?
Basically it's an event where you come and you learn something. But by definition it's interactive.
When and where ?
That is what remains to be defined. I saw that the Backstage in ghent has rooms to rent to do workshops. price is decent, and i heard good feedback from them. So unless someone has a good address in bxl.... When ? well probably first one in march or april ? give us time to get everything ready.
**How will it work ? **
Basically we'll have someone from ebel prepare a presentation on a subject (one or more, depends on the subject etc....) It'll be a bit like a lesson :) My idea is to try to get a shop to sponsor us, to get a couple of pcs (or macs) in the classroom... That way it'll be even more interactive ;)
Costs
No idea yet ... workshops are usually either free (Sponsored) or quite expensive ( i saw a 500€ workshop for reaktor5)...
so it'll be : rental + drinks + presentators (they deserve a bit of cash for making the efforts). I'm guessing 10/15€ for the entrance. (very democatic price).
Questions/Ideas
In which language should presentations should be done ? IS doing them in english a good idea ? or better to do it once in french and once in vlaams ?
Workshop subjects ?
these are just some ideas popping right out of my head.
Conclusion
Would you be interested in attending such workshops ? Could you present anything ? Any other ideas that could help ?
Yes this would be excellent There's a lot of things i don't really know My opinion is that everybody has got to learn something at some points Just let me know Maybe a FM workshop would be great (frequencie modulation) If i can help in anyway zark just tell me
think it's useless to do them in English have them in both languages
i couldn't help you with that... even when i'm a teacher (could give it in both languages though) :D i make music in a very intuitive way so i couldn't bring it with the whole technical vocabulary package. if there would be a workshop in a domain i'm realy interested at i'd consider coming. Godamn it's always in Brussels (for obvius reasons)
Very nice idea. I'd come for a few courses (e.g. the one about mastering) I think it's best to do the courses in dutch and french. If there are participants (teachers and students alike) who don't have a perfect knowledge of english the lessons would slow down too much.
interested in teachin' Midi, Cubase SX2 and reason 2,5 (haven't got 3 yet) i believe i could demonstrate how to wave-edit a 'stupid default sound' of the subtractor into a nice one... i feel like doing this for beginnerz though, cause i don't feel like arguing or discussing with pro's. i'm not al all a mr. perfect and always open for tipz, but not for endless conversations about personal taste on how to use a program...

erm no ... the place i found is in gent ....
wonderfull idea... those who own a laptop could bring it to the classroom too, and we could set up a little network, for example to exchange files (our own, I mean 8o )...
I'm interested in almost anything... even things I think I know alot about, I would attend the session, there is always something to be learned, I think...
do the first one on March 11nd in Gent... after that, you can all come to my party in the evening... 8)
