Cleaning up your sounds

hehe... the waves plugin pack is one of the best around, check the price .... it's pro stuff...

if u want better i guess you'll have to go for a good hardware eq ( tl-audio,...)

the most important is not the db, but the q-factor, if you can get very narrow q, u can cut allmost everything you want

the multi track thing...

you should run each track through a frequency analyser, watch where you have too much noise and eq every channel speciffically on the frequencies you need, a general eq won't do what you want...

i don't hav understand all this thread, but if that's a prob of noise , i use Voxengo Redunoise 1.5, and he is very nice.

I guess you haven't read that thread decent enough. I mentioned that no vst can go to -90db but Cooledit can. Maybe not interesting enough to do the hassle on every sound but for some and espeially at the end when you render different parts. For example: snares don't need <150hz --> render all the snares, open the wav in cooledit, adjust your eq and bingo, nada left under 150hz...

btw: found out that it is possible to layer as much/possible as you want hi or low-pass filters upon each other, with a waves q10 eq. this results in -24db + -24db + -24db ...

with four of them you have a -96db/octave filter

Hm, im not totally sure about that but I dont think that adding 4 -24db filters has the same results as as a -96db filter...

edit : going to try to check this, you might be right
