Dear friends,

Now its time to think seriously about what we are doing with our wednesday ! As Jemenfish say, we have to find a good place, with a good sound, drink who are not too mush expensive and maybe be paid if it work weekly. So, my first question is : do you have any idea of where we can do it ? I think we have to stay over the city center, from le parvis de st-gilles to la petite île... Here is a list of bar suggest by members :

Kultuurkaffee (little bit too far for weekly parties) Heck (i dont know where it is ??) café central Zebra roi des belges DNA Union

If you know another place, or have some comment about those one (good place, too mush expansive, too far, etc...) take 2 minute for say it !

When the list of bar will be big enough, i take an afternoon with Bollzy, Kwen and Aphone to make a biiiig travel over all the places and ask everywhere with a flyers and concrete proposition in hand. Now we are waiting you !

-Meka.S

P.S.: next week, we have already Erophin, HarryPoppins, Bandarlog, simon korfunkle who want play.

The guys in charge at Kultuurkaffee seem to be on holiday; I'd like to propose to him to do electrobel nights sometimes in the week; They did try-outs for jazz bands on wednesdays last year, so why not electronics. Only trouble is, the massive soundsystem that's used on Thursdays is not available Wednesday, so I need to check what actually is there (and if they want to do it, of course...).

I'm relatively certain the afterparty slots after the concerts are not filled, too; But I don't know what the programming is like Oktober-December. Would be pointless to put IDM after some stoner rock band :)

If you can have a cool location but not a good soundsystem, I can get those supported by the flemish government in Brussels (VGC) for cheap. But it's such a large installation, it wouldn't even fit in something like l'escalier :)

héhé

You know, its not a problem for me to take my speakers with me, but its not the best we can do... I really hope we can find a place and get something systematic, with basic quality thats events need... My speakers are just a step to less for this i think...

Jemenfish : great, i take it in mind ;)

I think café central isn't such a bad idea, but we just have to wrap it up nicely...mean not n importe quoi...I'll talk to the dude! But I think it won't be every wednesday...let's say once a month...maybe we can change every week of bar...ex: first wednesday in central, second in escalier, third in Aman,...change of scene...yeah... Yeah what about aman?...

I looked it up, the smaller sound installation would cost 18 euro for a night. The larger ones are 50 to 100 euro (6 hours duration; 13 euro for each additional hour). That's up to 2000 Watt.

Mind, the large ones includes everything, 5 or 6 monitors (retours), boxes, 24 or 40-track high quality mixing table, all effects you can dream of, etc., and a team of sound engineers (2 or 3, depends on the day). I have no clue what's in the smaller ones, never use 'em :)
