ableton live! MAC OS X

i had the same prob.... i switched to Logic Express, wich is great.

Apparently the program recognizes the crack by itself, I've had a couple of cracks in my old ibook, but they never lasted more than 2 weeks. what you can do is bye one with somebody, and share the serial number!!! checking on e-bay also for good deals!! good luck! -kick budha-

Normaly, you can play with the demo version of ableton, it's fully operational but you can't save your set or render your song. But i don't think you do that live, because you can record it externly. With the official version of ableton live5 they give you the demo-version for the live sessions on someone else's pc or mac because it's working on both platforms.

you could just download the demo...

the cracks for ableton are mostly 'issued' by the abletons themselves - it's very good publicity: once you're hooked, the program stops working and your choices are:

1. buy live (which is what you should do anyway...)
2. delete everything (everything!) that has to do with live on your computer and reinstall live.

i bought the program rightaway so i haven't used any of the available cracks, but this is what happened to all friends of mine who've installed a crack (before you ask: they're it-ers who know how to use their computers and software).

btw, if you're still a student, you can get the program at a significantly reduced price.

i've used cracked versions of live before. they all stopped working after a few months. it took more then an uninstal, regclean to get it working again. it uses a verry clever copy protection, and all your old files are lost.

i got a free copy of live lite 4 with my midi controller... upgrading to live5 cost me 279 €.

worth every penny.

on ebay some people that got these free lite versions are selling them... be careful when buying second hand software.

To all the rest:ableton is the best software i know, u should buy it. But, This is what i scrapped around from the interslut....

1- uninstall all ableton files 2- reinstall live demo but don't apply patch (when live demo start up, a folder "unlock" is created) 3- find this folder and turn it in "read only mode" 4- apply patch 5- open live and type serial- clik ok several times until the message "thank you using live 5" appears.

FINAL SOLUTION :

• download .zip from mininova (this is important, only they have the latest update)

• install demo

• Apply patch

• change patched app name to "Live" (not "LIve 5.0.1k'd")Open Live + while you open the first time search for "unlock" folder and make it "read only"

• Give added serial

• And then, ...youll still need a unlock file, but you can use any (ask one from a friend or something, its just a text file so it doesnt matter that it is PC or Mac)... i used one from a lite version, now i have a full working Ableton live 5 with operator... i tried before a million times, always had this "protection violation code",but this seems to work...

How about we dont speak of piracy on a public forum?

There are less costly (< 50€) alternatives for mac than logic or live. Check renoise demo for mac
