I have been a long-time user of this site. But it gets harder and harder to find anything decent to download. 30s prelistenings don't tell a lot about a song. And the guys who fill in the genres are complete morons!
Recently discovered, but not yet in use: http://www.djmrmusicdownload.com/ The quicktime-prelistening is enerving, but catalogue seems pretty complete and unique.

www.bleep.com Good selection of indie hip hop and electro/electronica stuff (in mp3 format !!). Very specialized. When you don't find some electro artist on other platforms, check that site.
I don't like the emusic system with this monthly subscription.
edit : ohoh its 1,50euro for one track on beatport!!?? And some there are some crazy prices for some album : 22euros for squarepusher-ultravisitor !!!
I use beatport (dj stuff) and bleep (everything strange)
I do tend to buy most of music on cd's or vinyl though.
Here's another one small catalogue, but nice interface with a nice flashplayer and long prelistening times.
