MicroKORG or MicroKONTROL?

i'm looking also for a midi-controller, and my eye fell on the remote 25/remote 49/remote61 of NOVATION. it has e keyboard (25, 49 or 61 keys), 8 faders, 24 buttons, 8 knobs (270°turning) and 8 data-knobs (360° endless turning) for 300 euros.

looks nice indeed! but i can't decide what to buy, a simple midi controler or a microKorg. Is a microkorg as good a midi controller as the microkontroller or the novation you're talking about?

Take the Xstation of novation, same as the Remote's but with an excellent synth on board + usb soundcard possibility's.

i got one, just fab !!! :D :D :D

btw the MicroKorg is a lovely toy with a great sound !!!!

the edirol collection looks very sucky i'm willing to spend money on a quality device. I'm sure a simple midi controller suits my needs for now,... but for future productions and live performances it would be nice to have better quality and more connection/control possibilities.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but a novation xstation 25 is an all-in one device. A very thorough version. External soundcard, midi controller, mixer,... Is that good? Isn't it better to use seperate devices? More expensive indeed. It has everything a microkorg and microkontrol have + more??

btw who knows a good shop price/service) in belgium/holland where i can test/buy a novation x station? Piens doens't sell this device.

it's really cheap and they deliver within a week. I did it several times (microkorg, mixers, mics, ...) You pay the price that's on the site (on delivery) + 20 euros chipping costs.

I use the remote 25 since one year. i hesitated between the Korg microkontrol and the novation. I choosed the remote 25 because keys of the korg are to small .. and you have more fader with the remote. I was not interested by the pads of the korgs...it'is to tinny. But the korg is also a very good product i dont think people who bougth it are now disapointed. :))

I've bought a BCR 2000 Behringer midi controller for abelton and it works fine, it acosts about 150 euro's, not very expensive.

It looks sucky but is it? I have an external soundcard, midi controller, mixer al seperate, is the PCR-80 from Edirol not enough? I will use it within Cubase. But afterwards I also want to use it to play live, so I will use a synthmodule. But can I play **several instruments at the same time ** then? Or isn't that the case for any MIDI-controller?

you can split your keyboard in different parts (for example from c0n to c3: rhodes, from c3 to c5 drumsamples and from c5 to c8 some pads), and assign your knobs to the different instruments.

i have looked around for a while for a good midi-controller, and as i want to go in extreme for this one: evolution's keystation pro 88 !! with 88 keys, 9 sliders 22 buttons and 24 rotaries. of course, i'll see what my budget tells me (it costs 600 euro) ;)
