Hi, i've been making music for years, but the tracks never came out of my bedroom. Now i'm really ready, and i'm planning a demo, but i am in need of a female voice. My gf can't sing (or won't, she's too shy) and most girls i know don't like the music i make (electro). So i went out to look for a female singer, but it's hard to find. I had many replies on the various fora i posted but mostly by 13 to 16 yo girls who want to be famous (but prolly can't sing). I'm in no need for a K3-project so i'm still looking for grown up female vocalists. Does anybody out here know a good place to look? Forums, stuff like that... lemme know!
PS I'm in the Gent area.
yeah well, website is more visited by artists than vocalists (for the moment)
We are planning a propaganda campaign in singing schools :)
best thing for you to do in the meantime; is to get a list of singing schools in your area and hang out over there, maybe try to talk to the teacher etc.....
If you haven't tried it yet, maybe the forum from Humo can help you? www.humo.be I think it's under 'Wiezoektdievindt' or something like that. And there is a music school near 'Het Zuid' in gent, maybe you can check out there. There are others in Gent, but that's the only one I know. Grtz
Maybe post your message on the message board of Piens music in Deinze at www.piens.be
Or perhaps maybe VTM wil give you the list of the last 100 of the Idol 2004 contest?
Although i'm not sure if they do that cos of privacy reasons, but it's worth a try.
Have you tried "De Koopjeskrant"?
Anyway, it shouldn't be too hard to find female vocalists. Girls/women are lining up for such an opportunity. But of course...can they all sing? :) You're probably gonna have to audition dozens of them. Perhaps what you also can try is go to a musicstore somewhere and ask the owner if he knows a female vocalist. Usually these guys have gathered many contacts in the music industry over the years and most likely will know someone, or know someone who knows someone who knows someone :) Good luck!
