to change all those peoples narrow minded peoples view about their own creations>lets do a kind of contest in a kind of style with all the same samplepack, and let others decide with a voting system, wich track is most pusched to the limit

remember, woulden't be any prices, just for fun and honor that way we really can judge a producers qualety, iff the songs are all made with same samples, then it's up to the producer to make it special

this is not a new idea in general>but it would be nice to be introduced at e-bel.

for me, searching for the right sample is a very important part of producing and it can take hours before i find what i'm looking for. so i don't know what the result would be if someone gave me a fixed amount of samples. i could try it for fun, but i think it 'll be hard to get a pack that's suitable for every style...

i would like to give it a shot. Just chose smps that can be used for different styles. or e.g. make a set of 10 smp of which one must chose 7. And you can only add 3 other 'sounds' of your own. (so you can use a maximum of 10 and a minimum of 7 smps)

Just give one sample and let's see what people are actually able to pull out of it.

You want to make a bass out of this sound? You'll have to cut a sine wave yourself from the sample.

That would be fun.

it would be more realistic to do one style at a time with samplepacks

and thats just the point that everybody uses the samplepack, like that ya can realy compare productions

iff the pack contains more then enough samples, doesen't mean ya have to use them all,but not another sample out of the pack,in that case we can all post our songs on e-bel,like we do right now

and i agree with the point that each song needs a lot of time to look for suitable samples to make it like ya hear it in ya mind.but in this case it proves how inventive the contestants are

see the point,off the contest-concept

I like a lot the idea of a contest with imposed styles and samples :-) I always work better when a track is a command... To have a guideline (style chosen, feell of samples), some restriction ta orientthe production... But there is a problem, with actuals programs, maybe nobody will recognise the originals samples :-) Quick ! made the contest ! and please, select good samples ...

I've had a better idea a more interesting challenge.

FreeStyle, Free Use of sample ...

only restriction, you HAVE to use the given melody .. tempo you want etc.... like a REAL remix...

theme idea : imperial march (everyone knows it) but maybe some more interesting themes, like pieces of Beethoven's Moonlight sonata or some other great melodies of the classical movement.
