24 Hours dedicaced to the Electronics Music !

After the success of the first Luxembourg edition of the festival “Electricity” last December, the “24 Heures Electroniques” is the new summer rendezvous for all electro music fans

On stage will be some of the most talked-about live artists of our time, like the members of the German group Digitalism who will be making their triumphal return just a few months after their first explosive appearance in the Club at the Rockhal, as well as the French duo Cassius, Alex Gopher, one of the precursors of the French Touch and the Germans of Tiefschwarz, not forgetting the most representative DJs of the international and the Luxembourg scene.

And for all “electronicians” who want to push their musical research to the limits, there will be numerous workshops, conferences and round-tables. The 24 hours will close with an Electro Brunch on Sunday morning.

  LINE UP Main Hall :

Cicada DJ set (UK) : Consisting of Aaron Gilbert, Alex Payne and Heidrun Bjornsdottir (vocalist for the Icelandic group Gus Gus), in 2006 Cicada released their first eponymous album upon which critics heaped praise. We’re talking here of retro-pop, of influences from Blondie to New Order and a sound which is surprisingly modern. A group which, as the magazine ‘Bent’ recently said, could well define the sound of the summer!

Cassius Dex ‘N’ Fx (F) :Philippe Zdar and Hubert Boombass, the brains behind the group Cassius, have made themselves their own niche on the electro scene since 1999, and the album of the same name which included the hit “Cassius 1999”.  That was followed by the albums “Au rêve” (2002) and, in 2006, “15 again”, a last album recorded as an emergency in their home studio, completely reflecting the adolescent spirit underlying its title.

Alex Gopher (F) : Producer and sound engineer, Alex Gopher began his career with the group Orange, which at the time included the future members of Air. In 1994 he created the label ‘Solid’ with a certain Etienne de Crécy and then released “You, my baby and I”, a first album half way between house and funk. After many collaborations (Etienne de Crécy, Demon, …) he released “Wuz” in 2001, an eponymous album in 2007 and an EP entitled “Belmondo EP” at the very beginning of this year.

Digitalism (D) : As a group not to be missed on the new electro wave which without precaution mixes acid tones, big beat, techno and house with electro pop and post-punk influences, Digitalism is returning to the Rockhal just a few months after have set it alight. That was in the Club on 19 December last … and some have still not recovered!

Tiefschwarz (D) : With the release last year of the double album “Souvenir”, the German duo rightly celebrated ten years of good and loyal service. A first CD containing some of their major influences (Sébastien Tellier, Marianne Faithfull, MIA,…) and a second with their favourite pieces, remixed by the cream of ‘in’ producers. There’s plenty more to be said about them yet.

Ed & Kim (B) : Their sets can be summarised in three words: originality, quality and attitude. In any event, they seem to have achieved unanimity among the professionals because they could be seen recently at some of the greatest events and other festivals (Dour, Pukkelpop, I love techno, 10 Days off,…). They provide the musical transition during set changes on this stage.
