anyone aver made a vsti?
Help neededi want to learn a new programming language i know vb fairly well, as well as html, css, java, actionscript and spectrum basic (big ups to clive sinclair) and bits of a few other languages ive kinda started learning c# cos its easier than c++ but i can only find tutorials and code for boring apps
is it worth learning c++? how easy is it to make a vst? is there an easy to follow tutorial around?

The easiest way would be to use synthmaker. It's a very easy to use modular environment and it's code components are very deep (you can write your own assembler in there if you want). It's a good way to prototype and tweak your algorithms. If you really want to go all the way you can then later on port everything to C++ or use the juce framework (which does a whole lot of low level shit for you, and gives you crossplatform compatibility for free).
possible also to do this with max msp in C. in fact, to make synth with modular language can be more efficient I think.

Once its out I want to try it, see where it takes me. But still working on expanding my synthesis knowledge first...
yeah i always ask myself if it's necesairy to make your own synths if you really want to push to the max of synthsesis , or just because of the better understanding of the synthesis by building a synth, but i really don't wanna learn a language hehe
I imagine a yellow simpson character screaming "neeeerd" to another character, but I guess that's not very nice to say :D
