does it exist? i need to make 16-steps bassline (a la DAF) with my external synth, but a hardware sequencer is a lot of money. maybe i can use the midi out of my sound card to control it. is there any VST plug in that can help me?

Check the wusikgroovebox. It's meant as a drumplugin with stepsequencer, but the stepsequencer is very powerfull and has a midi out, so you could trigger whatever you want with it. It's not too expensive either I think

Just program it in midi in the sequencer your using now (i assume you're using one or it would be odd to look for a vst). make the synthline and transpose it here and there to make it DAF-style.

Or look for a programmable arpeggiator (vst).

maybe this is not very concrete help but there are other possibilities then a 16step sequencer vst.

mrmute > i don't want to program the line in my DAW because i want to be able to transpose the sequence live with my midi keyboard.

do you know a programmable arpeggiator?
