Film sound music...
General discussionHi Guyz,
I'm teaching film sound design in 3D computer graphic schools @ Hornu (Le Site) & Namur (HEAJ). Every year, we have a bunch of great short films created by our students, but always with the same problem: THE MUSIC of the film! If it was only for a school work, they could use any existing soundtrack that fits their work, but this makes that the film can't have any life after school! Last year, some of the films of our students have been choosen by TVs (TF1, Canal +,...) to bee shown, but since the sound track is not original, and they don't have the copyrights it's been really difficult!
So the question is:
would E-Bel members be interested if we create some kind of a "partnership" beween e-bel & the school, so the studs could submit their films (via storyboards, animatiks,... ) to E-bel for music soundtrack work? The students don't have money to pay for that, but yer name will be in the credits and if the film hits TV or any contest or festival, you can have some feedback from it! And if the film makes some money, of course you'll have your part of it!
What do you think about it?

hey, sounds interesting. wanted to do music for dance or theatre for a while but film could be fun just as well!

I always want to do some real soundtrack work. I suppose that the soundtracks are not for this year? (as the schoolyear is nearly at an end)

Yezz, very interested... i recorded the sound for a flemish vampire movie ( check my profile ), and made a track for that...(vampiric delusion)...

and yes, some of this year studs didn't found their music yet! so I'm gonna ask them to post asap a line, explain their project, with linx to their videos!
Feel free to respond them if you're interested in composing their musical soundtrack!
Only one thing: please, if you take contact with a stud, and accept to do the job, do it seriously and finish it into the deadlines that will be given! ;)
