Especially the top 50 topic, it got locked after Swan's post, no explanation, didn't even notice it got locked; I'd be interested in hearing the reasoning behind it. Especially since the siamang project could properly show that new projects CAN get into that top 50.

Bleh. Can't someone bother to write some straigth guidelines for once what is and isn't allowed on these forums (twin topics, bumping posts, hell we even get a meaningful discussion locked while a few lines under it there's a thread of a party who spammed his flyer 3 or 4 times and that is fine...)

mods, get together, you ve got to come out as one. it s like every mod has his own rulebook now. true. moderating involves responsibility, the ability to take a distance from topics that involve oneself personally and unbiased judgement. 'trigger happy' moderation is not what we need...

I resent this , but i expected this...

My amount of wallspam for the siamang project is not that big, beyond that, i even deleted some replies i gave in the comment section of the track...

why the thread was closed? because it was turning in circles, going absolutely nowhere, as pointed out by some people, the final decission is zarks, so what's the point in blabla-ing in a thread untill it has 500 pages, and still no concensus...

it is clear that people will not agree on that topic, no matter how long we keep arguing, that's why it was closed...

if u want to spam on the wall when u have a new track, just do it, a lot of people do it, not only mods, be honest about this, and what is the problem there...

If u don't want to listen to a track, don't listen, simple... promoting your work is not a bad thing imo, and how else to do it than by spreading the word...

i agree there must be a clear line when it comes to party announcements, it's up to zark to point this out, and up to the mods to live by that...

i personally don't touch party announcements...

and for people who don't care about the top 50, some of you put a lot of enrgy in yanking about it ...

about the maturity-topic: yes, i locked it, because it was again a new topic for a very old matter. so if people want to continue to discuss the thumbs, just post in the existing topic, instead of opening yet another one! as mods we have to keep ebel clean, which also means not a 100 topics about the same matter. or am i wrong?

WHY,,,??? ask your self the question. Not because we commented it alot since the artists comments are not taken in the formula... Tell me WHY this song is there. Because i spamed on the wall? Me is bored by this once again, maybe i act like a dumb man, but im not, and i just want to proove to all your asses that this top is not dead yet . Thats what i did. Zark has always been ok with any amount of party spam, even if it's a party in Timbuktu. That's exactly why it's becoming a problem with electrobel growing, because electrobel 2004 ain't electrobel 2007 and that policy should be changed. With the amount of electrobel members playing left and right and starting separate threads for each party, why don't you make the simple guideline 'No electrobel member playing = no post' and delete where necessary?

make a new account, post a song under it don t say you're it. where will the 170 hits come from? everybody knew the siamang project before it had a song

didnt read the whole top 50 thing, but what i think is that this is just like in real-life musicbusiness: lots of media-"spamming", band gets attention, gets famous and popular and then gets only more and more popular just becàuse it is in the top 50...

so what we have here is the micro-version of the same phenomenon...

for the rest i actually dont really care, i never listen to the top 50 anyway, not here and not in the outside world either

I locked it, shoot me if u want, but the only reason why, is because as i said before, there is no concensus coming out of it, just people nagging it's bad, others ( including me ) nagging it's good, for pages and pages and pages...

so i felt swan was right when asking to lock it...

i take modding serious and do a pretty good job at it if i say so myself, and now it's a witchhunt because the top 50 topic was locked, well, i opened it again, very immaturely, so please be my guest and fill 5000 pages...

i hope a consensus will come out of it...

I think zark should give his oppinion, and a choice must be made, otherwise this will go nowhere, and be honest it allready was going nowhere...
