need information on trackers

I think there are more limitations when u use a tracker then when u use fruity or reaktor.. When I started making muzik I used fastracker2 which was cool at that time.. Good trackers now are renoise and skaletracker, but I'm really convinced that fruity is better (u can use more fx, slicers, granulizers), maybe I'm wrong but in my opinion fruity is the best program to use.... :)

well I think there's a good tutorial in fruity.. I learned everything about fruity just by using it every day, I've been using fruity for almost 5years now and I still learn new stuff everyday.. Using the program should become your hobby, a passion 8o No seriously, use the program a lot ( even though at start nothing works or everything sounds to simple ) and after a few months (years) you'll know how to use it properly..

What I also used to do was making beats and basslines in Reason (which is quite easy to use) and then use those waves in fruity.. GoodLuck!! :))

GoodLuck!! :))i've done that too (the thing with the reason samples) but like when you told me once that i should use the quantization...i don't understand what does that do to my song. the fruity manual is not very explicit. are there some forums or something like that on the internet???

There's no better lesson the learning it your self ! But it's always nice for someone showing you some tricks n stuff (Thanks Hecticcc)

You can do as much in a tracker than in a traditional sequencer. There are no more limitations... (You can use reaktor in any vsti compatbile environment anyway, so in any recent trackers).

Though, in a tracker, some things are easier and some harder. I don't mind not working with pianoroll and I love trackers, been using them since 10 years or something, so I use Renoise and skale tracker.

For example, a great thing with trackers is working with the offset of a sample. Another is the resolution (number of lines per bpm) you can achieve. But with a tracker you won't have a lot of "pre programmed machine", you'll have to have a good sample base of yours as well as a lot of vst(i)s.

If you're already set with a nice sequencer, stick to it though, why relearn if you're comfortable with something?

well harry, can you tell me how the granulizer works cause thats one of thoese things I still dont understand after 3 years of FL cheers

I used to work with the ModPlug Tracker before I turned to reason. It's wave-sample based, supports VST and is quite easy to use.
