I need a sample converter and a player to use my Sounds from Akai S1100 on an Mac . I found CDxtract: works well, but costs 130 Euros. I tried VSamp that plays the converted sounds correctly, costs 40 Euros. There is Extreme Sample Converter for 80 Euros. There is another named Chickens Systems Translator for 120 dollars.May someone out there suggest me another solution or software?
things to do:

It seems to work fine on your site...Even if i would transfer the samples (in original AKAI-CD format), that should be not the right solutions, because of the different sample allocation and loop points for all sampler brands.

I dont know if there is a mac version but recycle 2.0 can communicate with akai's over scsi or midi using sds (sds is very slowl, but it works)
Also Sound forge supports scsi and sds, but sds is a bit buggy in my experience.
Check the akai zone at synthzone for more info on apps & howto's ;-)
