Ok, there's already a big discussion here about music genres, now I want to start a little discussion about the way electrobel is making a "top ten".
Like everybody knows it's being made up out of the amount of listeners. It's not a bad criterium, but there are better ones me thinks. For example: if u think that a tune that's been on this site from march or april, then it's rather normal that more guys listened to this "april"-track than a track that's been made last week... My remark is then: is the april-song better than the newer one, just because of the amount of listeners??? I don't think so, I say that time here is distorting the results...
On the other hand, it's possible that with "top ten" we just refer to the tracks that were listened most to -on itself- without saying they are the best.... Maybe that was the idea (ZARk?), but then u should call the rubrik "most listened" or something like that. Cos let's be honest: when we speak about a "top ten", it's in fact talking about the best ten!!
Another solution could be that instead of using the amount of listeners, u could use another -less disturbing- variable (like giving scores or something)
Reactions on this matter?
well thanks for your concern... there's already been a thread about this ....
when i made Top10 .. i actually means Top10 listened ...
I can't remember what we agreed in the other thread, don't have time to code e-bel for the moment, busy making money so you guys can enjoy a free community with later a party without sponsors ...
just let peepz submit there own top-10 from tunes submitted here, any remarc, people shouldnt be included to put their own songs in their top-10 otherwise.....
just my 2 cents

just my 2 cents yeah, i think it's close to what we had decided ..
if i remember it was djit's idea of using a sort of favourites .... then making a top10 based on how-many-times-a-song-is-in-favorites .....

dasrite mate :) it still not reliable 100%, but then, no hitparade has ever been that close to reliability :) if people put it in their favourite (or playlist) that means that they want to listen to it more than once, and that has got a value...
I don't care about a top ten. I'd rather see Electrobel as a place where you can get some advice on your music. So do whatever you like with that top 10 :D
what about a system in which the listeners can give the sond a number/10? like on dnbscene.com? think it's the best way to solve that problem...

Yup follow your opinion on this, it's nice like it is now that people can give comments on the song, think the producer of it has more feedback with comments than a number, but would be a nice extra tho, that it can be rated.
