Ebel Meeting
General discussionOK, so in another thread there was much ado about Ebel and whether or not it should become a VZW/ASBL, the fact that ZARk hasn't been around much lately, and a lot of rumours (read it all here: http://www.electrobel.be/forum/1/6435,0,0)
Aphone had the idea to organise a meeting, in real life, to clear things out a bit, see where we are standing, what the ideas and sentiments about a lot of things are... Of course, as S-cape pointed out, there is always a lot of blabla on the forum, and eventually, noone ever starts doing something. That is what this thread is for. We will have the meeting, we just have to figure out where and when... I'm kicking it off, now I expect some good ideas to come from you ^^

I think people do care, if you try a new attempt in organizing something i can assure you that a lot of the ebellers from ghent will try to come!
even i would come, an i have to come from veurne... And other ebellers of the west flanders would also come i suppose!

someone could take his laptop with some program, cubase , ableton or reason or fruityloops, and everyone present adds 1 sound or pattern, at the end we see the result and if its good, we make of it the ebel mascott track
1IMHO the only thing that should be improved-> the website; its outdated (but a new one is in construction (for 2 years now I believe) 2 "organise a meeting,to clear things out a bit"...to clear what out exactly (besides the VZW/ASBL mater and the new website)...if someone wants to start an Ebel party;let him do it..if he's enough motivated he'll do it...but aparently not many ebellers are(including me) ...at the other hand electrobel is unknown and nobody besides ebellers would care for an electrobel party...my two euro cents. 3 to meet we best need a leader (me not being it) or a couple of guys wanting to put time and effort in all this "ebel is not good enough"-shizl... 4in Ghent there are regularly partys with multiple ebel artists on em (Friday Rollins,Caoutchoulogy,RaveAlert,Comin' through,RubberBrainscrubber,BugKlinik,homeshows...most are spammed on the forum) through these partys a whole lot of ebel people from Ghent and surroundings meet and stay connected,for some years now...BUT further electrobel movement wouldnt be declined (I totally support and believe Phollox's saying here....remeber Ebel summerfest?) at the other hand (let me contradict myself) its like we like it as it is and dont really need the need to get electrobel more involved...nontheless
i have no time to organise anything, but i would surely be interested in coming and helping out..i haven't been around much lately due to workload and musical tinkering behind the scenes, but ebel is still in my heart.... keep me posted!

I will contact Scheld'Apen, see if they have a spot somewhere in July to hold a meeting/BBQ/... I will create a new thread to see who wants to play at this Ebel-get-together once a date has been chosen.
I think it is important to figure out what we expect from Ebel, and what not. Who wants it to become a VZW/ASBL, and who doesn't, and why. Etc. I think there is enough to talk about to fill a few hours before we go on to the shows...
Now, I do not know anything about DJ-gear and where to get it, so someone else will have to handle this for me. If nobody wants to do this, then there is no DJ-gear, and there will be no party, simple.
Oh yeah, and maybe a flyer would be nice... (post it here)
