hi peeps, i came across a pretty kewl site when i was browsing the net for some fx-samples, and i figured that you guys might find this part very interesting as wel, so, here we go, filtered and adapted to match your taste ;) enjoy :))

ABOUT MULTISAMPLES

Multisamples are programs made from single samples. They are simmilar to typical AKAI programs, but much more advanced. Every NOTE in mutisample is assigned to different key (1 or 2 keys). It means that sound perfectly matches the original character of sampled synth, which is almost impossible using typical AKAI commercial programs.

It's enough for you to have multisamples and a program like FRUITY LOOPS, REASON, KONTAKT, HALION or CUBASE to play hi-quality sounds.

USING MULTISAMPLES IN FRUITY LOOPS

1. Create new instrument named "FRUITY SOUNDFONT PLAYER" like it is shown on the picture.
2. Click the marked icon to open SF2 programs.
3. Choose desired multisample from list
4. You may use ADSR evenlope to change settings of the sound. This way you may easy change release of sound. You can also set filter cutoff (CUT)
5. Now you can create your own melodies, using pencil in the PIANO ROLL section, or record it using EXTERNAL MIDI KEYBOARD.

USING MULTISAMPLES IN REASON

1. Click right mouse button on the black field. To do this you must remove all default instruments/plugins (except mixer and hardware section), which was loaded by default Reason's program.
2. Create new instrument named "SAMPLER - EMPTY [STEREO]" like it is shown on the picture.
3. Click the marked icon to open SXT (or SF2) programs.
4. Choose desired multisample from the list.
5. You may use ADSR evenlope to change settings of the sound. This way you may easy change release of sound.
6. Create your own melodies, using pencil in the PIANO ROLL section, or record it using your EXTERNAL MIDI KEYBOARD. (to activate PIANO ROLL-style edit in sequencer window, you have to click the marked icon on the top-left)

USING MULTISAMPLES WITH CUBASE SX AND NATIVE INSTRUMENTS KONTAKT

1. Click the right mouse button in the Cubase arrange window to create a new midi track.
2. Activate VST INSTRUMENTS window.
3. Click in the first empty window of VST INSTRUMENTS table and choose KONTAKT instrument from the list.
4. Next you have to click marked icon. This will enter KONTAKT edit window.
5. Using tree in the top-right, find the multisample you desire. Note that 2 folders appears below each multisample: PRESETS and SAMPLES - you have to click PRESETS folder. If you'll do this, name of the multisample will apears in table below. Double click it or drag to the black sampler window on the right. This will load your multisample into KONTAKT.
6. If you want to edit a sound - click EDIT button.
7. You may use ADSR evenlope to change settings of the sound. This way you may easy change sound's attack, release or sustain. You can also change a lot of other settings but it requires some synthesis knowledge from your side. As you might already know, KONTAKT is one of the most advanced virtual samplers available @ the moment.
8. Next you have to go back to the CUBASE window and click in the black part of the marked field (where "out:" appears). Next choose KONTAKT from the list. This will assign KONTAKT instrument to the MIDI TRACK you created on the beggining.
9. Create your own melodies, using pencil in the PIANO ROLL section, or record it using your EXTERNAL MIDI KEYBOARD.
