Okay,

like stated in other threads, ebel is gathering equipment, and re-investing current cash flow into hardware for ebel events.

First thing in the agenda, is a analogue mixer. as seen at the Cafe Central, having a 'pro' mixer to plug into is always a good idea :)

so i've looked around, and narrowed to a couple of items :)

1/ i've excluded behringer, and focused on either soundcraft, yamaha, or mackie. as they have built quite a reputation :)

2/ faders are needed, stereo rec-out needed, and preferably a monitor out :)

3/ limited budget. < 400euro

4/ second hand hardware allowed

5/ must have a flightcase !

Contestants :

  • Yamaha mx12/4 - second hand - 250e + flightcase

  • Soundcraft spirit E-8 - 288euro (music store koeln)

  • Soundcraft EPM8 Live - 296e (music store koeln)

Image

  • Mackie 1402 VLZ PRO - 384e (music store koeln)

  • Yamaha MG 16/4 - 291e (music store koeln)

  • Yamaha MW-12 - 343e

  • Soundcraft Spirit Folio FX 8 - 400e Image

obviously we rarely need that many inputs. ..

but somehow the big guys don't make small mixers, or they do but they don't have faders :s

i personnaly think the mx12/4 is a good piece of hardware and a really good price; i'll call the guy tonite and see whats the condition of it :)

if not, i think the soundcraft EPM8 sounds like a good price/quality ratio .. gotta check the critics on the net though ...

better too many than too few inputs! sooner or later we'll have some kind of band or large live hardware setup playing (thinking of myself here ;)). will be handy then. don't know jack about HW mixers though.

Hi there,

I've got a mackie cr 1604 at home and I ask 300€ for it. Somebody can come and check it out if you want to, cause it's not in mint condition. please note that it's the mackie cr 1604 not the cr-1604 vlz pro.
