Tomaz http://www.myspace.com/djtomaz Concept: Retro-Acid is Kozzmozz' second oldest concept and celebrates the joys that we experience thanks to the famous silver box, the Roland TB-303 bass machine, the machine that made such a huge impact on electronic music, and is still a big influence for many artists today. It sure as hell made us dance till the break of dawn and beyond… actually, we’re still losing our minds over these sounds today! In other words, Retro Acid is thé party for any 303 fan and its unmistakable old-skool Acid sound. On previous editions, a lot of acid heroes and pioneers from all over the world (DJ Pierre, Acid Junkies, A Guy Called Gerald, Miss Djax, Phuture 303, Dr. Motte, Tyree Cooper, Oliver Bondzio, Like A Tim, Brixton, Random XS, Richard Bartz, Woody Mc Bride, …) worked the silver 303 box at Retro Acid, treating us to the entire spectrum from the early 80’s acid house to the harder 90’s evolution … And again we’ve come up with a top notch selection of artists who will be bringing us all the shades and colors that acid has to offer … Our very own Belgian pride and groundbreaking producer CJ Bolland will be dropping by at this edition. He started his career at R&S Records and delivered several huge hits as Horse Power and Sugar is Sweeter, next to loads of other significant releases. He’s also known as an outstanding remixer who delivered remakes for the likes of Depeche Mode, Moby, Sven Väth, Orbital and Tori Amos to name but a few. Even though his sound has evolved through time, we know he still loves old skool acid, so you can expect a tweaking acid set plenty of 303 delights. We are also very honored to invite the one and only Beverly Hills 808303, hailing from Den Hague in Holland. This will be a unique and very exclusive performance not to be missed! Beverly Hills 808303 brought his first set since 10 years at last year’s edition of Bangface and blew people’s minds. This time, he will be blowing our minds at Retro Acid! Ferenc E released under various monikers such as I-F, but it’s under Beverly Hills 808303 that he delivered several great acid records during the mid ‘90’s. They appeared on the most prolific acid labels of that time: Acid Planet, the precursor of Bunker, his own imprint Reference Analogue Audio and Drop Bass Network for example. Everything he released was groundbreaking, continuously pushing the envelope. Currently Ferenc E is still pushing underground electronic music through his radio show Intergalactic FM (intergalacticfm.com) and continues to be a big inspiration for too many artists. For Arkanoïd it will be his 4th visit to Retro Acid and we know why. This Belgian acid maestro has released records on various foreign labels from Germany to the States. And of course, there is also his output on his own label Binary Bassline Records. On top of that, he is known never to perform the same live-act twice. Tomaz is a regular guest in clubs and on events such as Silo, Fuse, MadeinBrussels and many others. We also know him from his great techno selections on Switch on Studio Brussels. He’s been a part of the scene since the very beginning and will dig deep in his extensive acid collection. And he’s not the only one who possesses a huge acid collection, also Spacid, who was at the forefront of the underground party-scene in the ‘90’s through his Funky Green Aliens organization, has been pushing the early acid sound in Belgium since the very beginning. Be prepared for a true acid attack from the original acid masters!
This Saturday's Retro Acid will be a unique event which we're very much looking forward to. Tomaz will open the party warming up the crowd for the highlight of the event, a dj-set by the one and only Beverly Hills 808303 from Holland. This is a rare and not to be missed performance by one of Holland's major acid pioneers. Our own Belgian pride CJ Bolland will then take the controls and play an exclusive acid dj-set. CJ Bolland playing acid is not something you experience everyday, so we're in for a special treat. For those who like it harder, we also invited Arkanoid to perform a live set. The closing act will be our resident Spacid who will end the night with uncompromising hard acid cuts.

We sure had a blast again at the latest edition of Retro Acid! Tomaz had us
in the mood from the start building up nicely with all those tracks we
loved. And then came Beverly Hills 808303 who delivered big time. He went
deep, dark and underground and sucked everyone into his brown and dirty
Rotterdam sound. CJ Bolland took over and played better known records but
that's what Retro Acid is also about. His set definitely proved that he
totally deserves his international status. He sent us straight back to the
glorious Hacienda days and left the room hungry for more.
Arkanoïd’s live set was a slow but steady build-up to his unique style
combining hard sounds with uplifting and joyful acid. He gave the crowd acid
with a big smile! Spacid played a fierce selection of rough and dirty
acidcore reducing people’s brains to pulp. The place went bonkers for the
last time, until the lights went back on.
