New Server : Buffy
General discussionOkay, so some of you have probably noticed the >extended< downtime.
I had no idea dns servers would take this long to update .... really sorry. Anyways, what happened ?
Well, our old server, britney, has been replaced. Even though no one will truly never replace the real Britney, our server was starting to show signs of weaknesses ( slow, hdd's filling up, shaving her head, .... ).
So i've configured a new server, named Buffy ... For the techheads here's a little britney VS buffy.
Britney : p4e 2.8ghz + 3gb ram + 2x500gb 7200rpm hdd Buffy : Xeon QuadCore Nehalem + 3gb Ram + 2x 147gb 10.000rpm + 2x1Tb 7200rpm .
Also we had to change hosting company for different reasons, and therefore couldn't keep our good old ip addresses. So the transition to one server to the other included a dns update. The old server is showing a "server in maintenance" image.

Does the fact that i can't seem to be able to upload mp3 files anything to do with that? greets
antares has problems uploading a +/- 20 Mb file ... anyone else having issues ?
i tried uploading on another computer, tried uploading other files to test, it never worked, always the same error.. Strange..

buffy is running on gentoo linux. just like britney. not much difference there. except its completely compiled with xeon optimizations of course :) Its located in a datacenter right here in Zaventem, couple of rooms next to where britney was.
ok didn't work with a 10 mb file either. lower Mb worked fine though... Anyone else having this problem to or is it just me?
Problem identified easily thankx to Samforce. and fixed in minutes ! all good now :)
