Cubase and Audigy
Help neededok, so here's my problem:
with my soundcart (audigy 1 platinum ex), I use my earphones (via Jak output) and my Korg synth (via Cinch inputs).
In Cubase sx3, I have 3 options of soundcarts:
directx full duplex multimedia asio creative
i choose asio creative, so i can listen to tracks, and record my korg, but i can not listen to my korg when i'm playing it!! I mean, i can record it and listen to the track recorded, but not monitoring my Korg... that's very strange... and annoying!
so i switch to the "full duplex" cart, and there i can listen and record, that's ok, BUT, it records everything that is on every other tracks of cubase too. it makes a melting pot (je pense qu'il enregistre tout ce qui passe pas la carte son, input output sans faire la distinction).
so what? can someone help me? what is the magic trick? please!

I don't work with cubase, neither with an audigy soundcard. (I heard those suffer from bad drivers, so make sure you have the latest ones).
For people who have no ASIO driver with their card, there is a special [free] driver called asio4all. Perhaps you can try this one, cause it worked splendid on my lidl-computer.
In cubase you maybe can mute other tracks while recording (if this is an option).

yes cubase has the mute option on every track, so mute what u don't need...
personally i use a mackie mixer, the tracks i want to record i send to an alternative output, then i can record that output and still listen to the rest simultaniously, so with other words, you can listen to all the tracks at once, and onlmy record the ones you send to the alternative output...
with software i dunno if it works
ok that sucks big time... if I mute everything, I won't hear when I have to play the keyboard :D
yeah I found the solution! Actually, that was not an hardware problem, but a software configuraton problem: in the preference of cubase, I had to turn "Monitoring" in while recording. It was THAT simple!

you'd better install asio4all :) great driver ^^ i even use that one over the asio driver for my alesis :)
