Yeah, that's what I thought. If anyone will want any band to win, they'll just install a vote-bot and the thing is won easily.

Eh, not exactly since I'm opposed to those things, but I know they've been used on studio brussel's demopoll. I think you can just find them on google, download it and set some stuff like 'mask IP and vote every X minutes'. Then it's up to the organisation to see if they noticed it and/or take action. After all, a vote every 15 minutes is pretty easy to spot. Really, I wouldn't do it, just let the contest run. If someone wins with one of those, that's bad, but a lot of people will realise what happened and ose a lot of credit. It's what happened on that demopoll too.

WEG POLL - Toegevoegd op 4/13/2004 Minder dan 24 uur na het opstarten van de GRASPOP CONCOURS POLL zagen we tot onze grote verbazing dat reeds meer dan 6000 stemmen werden geregistreerd. We dachten even dat het concours POPIDOOL allures zou krijgen! We merkten, spijtig genoeg, dat het aantal stemmen niet evenredig is met het aantal 'unieke' bezoekers op onze website. Dat waren er immers (ongeveer) 1000 die eerste 24 uur na het online plaatsen van de POLL, of zes keer minder bezoekers dan het aantal stemmen. Het was niet onze bedoeling om een ingewikkelde techniek te gebruiken wat het stemsysteem betreft, maar we merken wel dat er mensen zijn die aan het begrip 'eerlijkheid' hun laars lappen en toch een manier gezocht hebben om verschillende keren te stemmen op hun favoriete band. Sommige tot wel honderd keer! Niet eerlijk dus en daarom heeft de Rock Tribune redactie besloten om de Poll van de website te halen. Aangezien tegenwoordig alle systemen gekraakt worden besloten we de aloude manier met postkaarten terug in voege te brengen. Stuur dus VOOR vrijdag 21 mei een gele of witte (gefrankeerde) briefkaart naar ROCK TRIBUNE GRASPOP CONCOURS – GROTE STEENWEG ZUID 11 – 9052 GENT en vermeld uiteraard de band van je keuze. Diezelfde dag maken we bekend welke band het meeste aantal kaartjes kreeg.
