in which program would you edit the sound (soundforge, ...) --> Fruity loops is rather easy to do this, soundforge is rather complicated.. imo.

which vsti synth would be the best for this (albino2, fm7, hydra, moog modular, wusikstation, hypersonic....) --> again, fruity loops. I use it all the time! Cuz you see, there's this SYTRUS VSTi that I like. I use FL to make my tunes, but I do the mixdown in an other program.

• which effects would you add --> No FX like Dark FX

For the rest: I don't know, my friend. I'm more into drumnbass..

i did cool discoverings in reason3! the things i do to make deep sub-basses:

1. put a flanger on lo note. disable the flanger lfo (so: a constant delay), turn the feedback at maximum and turn the delay time at its minimum, so the original and delayed wave are veeery close together. thsi way you get veeery fat an deep bass (also depends on how low your note is: the lower, the deeper). the same effect can also be reached if you make a very slight difference in phase of the 2 vco's of an analogue synth.
2. put a reverb on the beat (fading out-reverb or a reversed reverb, depends on how you want you sub-bass to be) via an aux-channel on your mixer. then you filter the reverbed beat (only the reverb, not the original beat) with a bandpass-filter. then you select a low, vibrating frequency with the frequency-knob (cutoff) of the filter, and you raise your resonance a lot. like that you got only the very deep frequencies of the reverb coming thru, and heavily boosted.

==> on both "1)" and "2)" you have to use a compressor at the end of you beat+subbeat, like that, you won't need to lower the volume of the sub-bass, cause with a flanger and a high-cutoff, you always have enormous clipping in low freq's. the compressor also reduce the peaks, so the actual long vibrating sub-bass comes louder. ==>in case of "2)" you can put an LFO or a matrix (in reason) on the cutoff of the bandpassfilter , so you do'nt have a constant sub-bass, but a sub-bass that comes from high freq and than comes down to the low freq's. if you wanna hear an example of that, listen to my prophecies of the 7'th sense the sub-beat comes up around the 14'th sec ==> if u use a reversed reverb on the beat in "2)" you get very cool dynamics (whoOM BOOM.. whoOM BOOM,...) ; for illustration check stabbed (but this isn't my invention; some ebel's already do this trick ;) )

not a technical masta to tell ya do this or that , but one think : be curious with all buttons ... and use your ears !!! and you will find all ya need in softwarez :)) to make some suuubbaaaabassaaaa

to start i have made this sub-bass with sound forge

it's a simple start:

1. generated a 65 Hz sine
2. added some bass compression
3. used bass maximizer (waves plug-in)
4. used a pitch-envolope to make it more techno

Stomper used 2be a nice program to create those sub-stuff remindz me i've got 2 install that one again

looks cool to me, but what i find pity about those individual programs is that you can't play live with them; you need to write them to wav before you can really play them... if it was a vst, that prob would be solved
