Hey, i notified some use cubase or other for mastering only... So i guess you also use vst's to do so and i'm just wandering witch you suggest
Greets Beminus
wow, you really helped him out with that remark. Self esteem points +10 ...
anyway, what's mentioned above: waves, izotope ozone, L3, bbe...
I prefer to work in cooledit though. It supports waves directx plugins (and izotope) but the main reason is that when you cut in cooledit, you really cut till -90dB while in cubase/any other sequencer you just cut till -20dB at max.

I use imageline's maximus for my mastering. I still need to get the hang of it though.
getting the hang of it i guess this was my question on my other post about compressors and stuff some mastering software is better than others obviously, but what kind settings do you find to work best like, what frequencies do you tend to compress or expand and stuff like that?

hmm... good question. For me it depends on the style but most of the time: expand >4000hz a lot for clarity, compress 500-4000hz with a bit of 'gain' but a high ratio. Below that: really depends on the track.
A good method too is to render/bounce different parts (with their proper eq and drastic cuts), get the peaks out with a limiter and L3 them till your mix sounds right and fluctuates between -6 and -2dB. After that fix your stereo image, get the peaks out again (but gentle) and L3 the whole till -0.1dB. Good solution for a clear and present mix.
