Basic effects question
Help neededThis may be a very basic question to many of you , but I'm just learning to make music and hoped someone could help. There are many electro songs on Beatport that have that fade out effect , like a filter/ delay or something . The song seems to get louder and usually the drums fade out and you're just waiting in suspense for the song to drop . Unfortunatly that is the best explanation I got, hope someone might understand. I'm using Ableton and wondering how to make such an effect. Thanx. Pryda's Europa does it a few times.

yeah I know what you mean.. after a climax in many tech-house/electro tracks it mutes and fades out (mostly cymbals etc) I just do that with automation on your effects... You have to put an effect only on the place in the track where/what you want to have "changed" So in most house tracks you open your effect knob just at the last cymbal hit of the climax and mute your whole mixer to (or solo an empty channel) .. so only the effect(reverb/delay) is the only thing you hear after muting all..
wait for the right moment when you want everything back and swtich the solo or mute off..

After you managed to do that a good tip is to have a sweep/wind sound fading slowly (synced) away when everything starts again...then its like your track is blasting open after the short break.
