put your kick on an empty fx channel, insert a peak controller in this channel, don't forget to switch the mute button off. put your bass on another empty fx channel. insert a compressor in an empty slot.  rightclick on the gain knob of the compressor. Select link to controller, go to the menu internal controller, select the "peak controller peak", in mapping formula select inverted.  tweak the knobs of the compressor (treshold, attack, release,..) untill you are satisfied.

or, an easy way to do it in fl with the peakcontroller is to open a new file in "open from template" then go to "utillity" and choose sidechaining. now you will have a new project file with only one sampler box containing a kick drum on channel two witch has the peakcontroller on it , add a vsti or bass sample to your pattern window and route it to channel one. channel two (containing the kick) was allready routed for you to sidechain channel one. i've used this to understand sidechaining better, especially using the peakcontroller. for a beginner the peakconntroller dousn't make much sense, but it's a great little tool to use

Don't like it anymore... You lose your shortkeys which i use constantly. maybe for finalmix purposes and/or when you're at the end of a project: render to wav in parts and start playing around in ableton (the cut/resample functions of live are way better)
