Cubase Midi Problem (CMP)

i think u can use the "midicontrol" track in the midi voice where u put quantizer, arpache,...

Choose a CC like CC10 for the pan and its ok

it's a rather vaque explanation ...

but, a while ago, when I made a midichannel (chn 1), connected the korg to the midi-input (chn 1) and pushed a key, I saw in the midichannel a meter corresponding to my pushin' finger ... not anymore now.

when I open for example the vst-minimoog, select the corresponding miditrack, push the record button and play the keys with the mouse (on the screen :-)) it doesn't record anything ...

there are no secret hidden buttonz in cubase... soundz kinda abstract (just like midi itself sometimez)

try problem-solving step by step:

1. when you press a key on your mikrokorg, does the red midi-input-meter on the *transport-bar * indicate it is receiving your signal??? if not, re-check cablez, i know u think it's stupid, but it wouldn't be the first time, believe me... and at this point u can define if it's a hard-or software problem

2. when you select a track, you get general info on the left: midi input is default set to all midi devices, which should work fine but try selecting your *M-audio midi * maybe, the output should be your vsti

3. still in the same track-info, u see channel -settingz; best set to 1 or any. some vsti'z do not respond on channel 2,3, etc.

4. if u still don't hear a sound, check your *midi-setup * and *midi-filter * settings, maybe there's a secret button there...

PS it's normal that cubase doesn't record the keys of a vsti, use your hardware keyboard...

• checked the cables
• used another midi controller but still no midi sign in the midi-activity-box in cubase.

if u have a hardware keyboard midi out going to your M-audio midi in, you should see a red meter in the *transport bar *when u press a key (i'm not sure if u call this the midi-activity-box, but i think u mean the track or channel info on the left, no?).

by default cubase midi-tracks are set to *all midi devices *so it should receive a signal. the only thing i can think of is a midi filter, cablez or a windows problem in correspondence with your M-audio...

if it's really driving u mad, i might give u a visit since schoten is not that far from kalmthout... just ask, ok? it's easier 2 see it with my own eyez, u know...

well, it's very strange ...

I installed the edirol-midi interface and that works perfect with cubase (can control softsynths with the korg). So I don't think it's in the filter.

the only thing I think of now is the M-audio midi-in cable (one of the little cable that's hanging on the portconnection to which you connect the normal midi-cable). But then again, that midi-out cable works perfect. I can control the virus with cubase.

yes, very strange... cubase filters only sysex by default so that should indeed not be the problem.

well, running out of optionz here, i believe it's not cubase causing the trouble here... ?(
