This is the second time (Opening night of the Ghent Comedy Frestival) i attend an electrobel-event in Ghent and againg almost no people from the electrobel-community were present (maybe 10 with the artists) It wasn't a party so i didn't expect 100 people or more but an audience of 6 to 8???? I thought that a community is a group of people who support each other and a little effort is always nice and encouraging, an artist doesn't like to play for empty chairs!!!! I heard a reaction about the price for a ticket (8 euro), well drink 3 beers less and the price is payed. Sorry but i am realy very, very disappointed. I had the intention to organize some concerts with artists from electrobel but under these conditions it is an impossibility. I had to get it off my chest!
well most people on ebel are musicians... not fans...
and then the members are widely spread over belgium with a kind of an assembling point in brussels coz of the students (just take a look at the ebel user map to see this)
and thirdly... the was pretty much offer of big and nice events this weekend...
everything is sayd... You do an ebel night ? considere it as a simple party and do a lot of promotion with flyers in hand to hand at the city you choosed.
you lucky basterd
lol
ebel artist from Luxemburg CRASHZENDO once played in front of ZERO people... on a festival ... not even a bartender or a soundguy... but they held the position and I think they earn a lot of respect for that!
Ebel Rebels go!

*when i pee in my toilets nobody applaus...thats what your sayin for me * EGO TRIPPERS? maybe you are one of them...
comeone man, we are a community of PRODUCERS, not fans, we do music punt aan de lijn. How can you expect massive ebel people at partys, we are all strangy guys, stayin at home and doin our sounds when everybody is at the party... If they where only 6 pple its because your promotion plan was bad. Dont say its because of us. YOU organized the party, the room was empty, YOU made a mistake... sorry im pissed off too...

First off: respect for co-hosting and attending ebel events.
Second: it was a very very very busy weekend. It was Dour festival! It was Gentse feesten and what Bandarlog said. It's not easy to draw a crawd when you have to say: honestly it could sound like anything, could be triphop or gabber
Stuff like: Electrobel presents <enter your favourite subculture/genre here> would work better. That, and patience ...
Dear Aphone, It was not Jorune who organised the event. Wim from Comedy Festival asked me to program a night of Ebel music because he is a fan of Ebel. Strekie, -Scaldis-, Zark (visuals) and myself did a great job. The problem is that there was not enough exposure. The organisation contacted VRT-radio to cover the event, but they were not interested because there were no 'famous artists'. It is simply very hard to get people to come to your event. There is so much to choose from, especially on the Gentse Feesten. I think the catch is how to attract people. I think flyers and posters won't do. Imo you have to find an original concept, and then try to attract some media who can give the event the right exposure. Or become famous...
I understand it very well, i even remember you asked me to play... AND I JUST KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS TO PLAY AND TO ORGANIZE AN EVENT AND NOBODY COMES... i know its hard... but i cant accept a title of thread like this one. The problem for this party is not thet we are ego trippers on ebel... cause we are not. Isnt it a bit harsh to put the whole cummunity in the same bag...?? WE ARE A PRODUCER COMMUNITY, NOT A FAN COMMUNITY. and its only my point of view, maybe the others will agree with Jorune... but i dont think so. rispekt for the organisation, really, i know its takin a lot of energy, and money, but dont shoot the whole community because almost nobody from ebel came...
