just a lil post concerning the visuals i m making with a director for my lives this summer
i am looking for old industrial buildings - loodsen - that are abandoned in the surroundings of ghent.
does any1 have some ideas ?

From what I understand Ghent has plenty of 'em. Want me to ask?
-2 giant loodsen @ 'the muide', no walls just 2 stories of rusty metal with a roof on it one of them is under construction but the other one is still in it's original state. You can see them from the wiedauwkaai (might know the place where the eskimo-parties etc... were located) but they're at the other side of the water. -Another thing you should check is the acec-buildings. Entrence at the binnenring just past the 'handelsdokcenter' or at the other side from the "sint salvator-straat". As far as I know there was even a studio located there. Don't know who owens it but it has several buildings and from time to time there's been party's or events going on. A little bit further on that ring is a blue metal monster on the right it's a thing that was used to unload ships. U might find it's rubbish but to me it's my favorite 'monument' in town.

You might also want to check the Ivago Kraakpand which is located in the Palinghuizen @ the end of the Rooiegemlaan when your coming from Citadel, @ the end of rooiegemlaan turn left ,and you"ll find it. also op de drongse steenweg (near rooiegemlaan) there is this old factory which is at the moment being thrown down, but there are still some remnants, might want to check this asap since it can be away next week ^^

not near gent but the old mining buildings of waterschei in limburg are F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C for this kinda stuff. i participated in a workshop/performance there. check the 2005 event on this page: http://www.meta-orchestra.org/
