That IS a big problem for me. I find it real hard to put my files in the correct category. Shoudln't an expert with some "piviledge" be able to move the songs in the correct genre ?

I just put a track that, for me was experimental, because I never made that specific kind of music, but what is experimental for me is not experimental music...I recieved quite a rude comment because of that. I mean critics doesn't bother me as long as they are constructive, but in that case, it was not. Aren't there too many categories anyway ? Oh well, I am sure someone will find a solution.

As I suggested in another thread, I'd catalog them based on something more objective like BPM's or make +/- 7 genres, with subgenres "inside" that main genre if required.

BPM based cataloging would also make it easier to compile and mix a (MP3) DJ set.

That probably was my comment and it was not rude in my opinion. I never said the track was bad, I just said it was as experimental as a cow is a giraf. For me that track just sounded like old trance ("nu-nrg" or whatever they called it) from the mid-nineties. A bit the old sound of club "Illusion"... I never said the track was bad... I just have a weard way of saying stuff (I admit that).

10 € limited edition cd's with tunes produced entirely with dot-matrix printers is what I call experimental...
